Junior Research Fellow Jobs - National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research

Walk-in interview on 17th & 18th August, 2009, (from 9 AM onwards).

The National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India is looking for prospective candidates for filling up the following posts under various projects. The posts are purely temporary and on a project mode basis initially for a period of one year. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions are invited to attend a walk-in-interview at NCAOR

1. Junior Research Fellow
Essential: Masters degree in Geology/ Geophysics/ Oceanography/ Earth Sciences /Marine Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Computer Sciences from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level.
Desirable: Experience in scientific cruise/ participation /surveys/marine geophysical data aquisition/ processing/ interpretaion.

2. Junior Research Fellow
Essential: Masters degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Marine Geology/ Marine Sciences/ from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level.
Desirable: Knowledge in hard rock petrography and geochemistry. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates

3. Junior Research Fellow
Essential: Masters degree in Physics/Remote Sensing/ Earth Sciences/ Physical Oceanography or equivalent from a recognized university with 60% marks or more.
Desirable: Knowledge of working in UNIX/ LINUX environments with scientific programming skills such as GMT/GIS/ Matlab. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates

(Registration will start from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM. No candidate will be allowed to attend interview reporting after Registration Time. Interview will start from 10:00 AM onwards)
Age Limit : 28 Years.

All candidates are required to bring the original documents related to educational qualifications, date of birth, work experience, caste etc. Duly attested copies of all the documents must be submitted with the Bio-data. One self attested recent passport size photograph should be pasted in the appropriate place in the bio-data.
