Scientist Jobs - Council of Scientific & Industrial Research

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is the largest publicly funded R&D organization in India covering practically the entire spectrum of scientific and Industrial R&D ranging from aerospace to ocean exploration, from micro-electronics to structural and environmental engineering, from smart materials to mechatronics, and from petrochemicals to synthetic biology.

CSIR is now introducing a two-year-full-time residential Post-Graduate Research Training Programme in Engineering under the Quick Hire Scientist (QHS) Scheme in the following cutting-edge technological areas:

Technological Areas:
Advanced Semiconductor Electronics
High Power Microwave Devices & Systems Engineering
Advanced Instrumentation Engineering
Mechatronics
Materials Resource Engineering
Advanced Petroleum Science and Technology
Engineering of Structures
Environmental Systems, Modeling & Optimization

Essential Qualification:
All Engineering graduates, in any discipline, with high first class with minimum 70% marks or 7.0 CGPA are eligible.

Desirable Qualification: A valid GATE score will be an added advantage.

Scientist Trainee :
The selected candidate will be designated as ‘Scientist Trainee’ under QHS scheme and they will get a consolidated emoluments of Rs.24,000 per month and other benefits as applicable to QHS of CSIR.
This training programme is a four semester programme, Tution fee for the programme is Rs.48,000 per annum.
Reservation & Relaxation will be as per Government of India rules.

On completion of the research programme with distinction, the candidates will be considered by CSIR for absorption in CSIR as Scientists in Pay Band-3 of the Government of India (Scale Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600 plus other allowances, as applicable).
Under this programme, CSIR would select young, bright B.E./B.Tech. graduates and groom them into research ready scientists/engineers for taking up challenging positions in CSIR. The selected candidates will be trained on exciting live projects.
